Good Afternoon everyone. I hope you all are having a fantastic weekend.
Well as I am sure you all know, I have been MIA for awhile.
I took a break from crafting and needed to get my mojo back.
A couple of months ago I joined a new ning site called ScrappingCarolina.ning.com and I have been addicted to that site since. The members there are fantastic and so much fun to chat and get creative with.
I am here today to share with you my completed page 1 and 2 for the first challenge.
The challenge was to create a 7x7 ( I made mine 6x6 ) page layout that will include a pocket and tag on one side and a page with a flap on the other.
This is the first page with my pocket and 2 tags. The paperline I used is from Recollections. I added a gardenia flower and hot glued a few white silk flowers from AC Moore to the center. The leaves are also from AC Moore. I used a diecut that a friend gave me for the pocket and embossed it with one of my sizzix embossing folders. The sentiment diecut is from another paper line I purchased at Walmart and I popped that up on some pop up dots. The lace at the bottom of the page was purchased online at hobby lobby and I layered a strand of Cynthialoowhoo bling mesh on top. For the top of the tags, I used a prima flower and added a beautiful gem heart button from michaels to the center of the flower.
This is page 2 of my mini. This flap pocket was made using a tutorial I found of youtube. I really love how this page turned out. I created the flower using, lace, satin ribbon, and another one of the silk flowers from AC Moore. I used the same lace from the flower along the bottom and top edges of my page. The leaves were the same white leaves from the first page but died them with Lindys Black spray. The bling used on the cover is recollections bling that I found in the dollar bin. The black and white trim was from my stash and the border punch is from fiskars.
The flap opens up and has space for 2 photos.
The page then flips open for another 2 places for photos.
This is the front view of both the tags.
And the back view of both the tags.
The top tag I stamped with a stamp I found from the Michaels dollar bin and left it fairly plain for journaling.
The tag on the bottom was stamped using 2 stamps from Stampers Best.
Well, I am off to go make dinner and then start on the next page challenge. I hope you all will come join us.
Have a wonderful weekend and a safe and Happy Easter to those who celebrate it.
